If you struggle to locate specific items across multiple shelves of books, labeled boxes, or anything else clearly identified by text, here’s a simple solution: take well-composed photos that capture all the titles without glare. Later, you can easily search for any text within those photos.
To do this, tap the Search button in Photos on your iPhone or iPad, or use the Search field in Photos on your Mac. Photos will highlight the search term in the found photo. If Photos on your Mac doesn’t show the expected result, try searching on your iPhone, which often reads harder-to-identify text better.
This handy feature comes courtesy of Apple’s Live Text, which uses machine learning to recognize text in photos. Think of it as the lazy person’s database!
