A standout feature of iOS 16 was the Photo Shuffle option for customizing the iPhone Lock Screen, using machine learning to pick photos from categories like People, Pets, Nature, and Cities, and rotating through them on tap, lock, hourly, or daily. However, manual selection was clunky. With iOS 17 (and iPadOS 17), you can now direct the Lock Screen’s Photo Shuffle wallpaper to an album. Just touch and hold the Lock Screen, tap Customize, hit the blue ⨁ button, choose Photo Shuffle, select Album, pick your desired album, set a frequency, tap Use Album, and Add. Finally, tap Set as Wallpaper Pair or Customize Home Screen to use a different image for the Home Screen wallpaper.
